Note: The "Roman de la Rose" is a renowned 13th-century Medieval French poem presented as an allegorical dream sequence. Initially penned by Guillaume de Lorris to convey themes of romantic love, sexuality, and chivalry, it was later completed by Jean de Meun. Widely considered the most read book aside from the Bible during the 13th and 14th centuries, it greatly influenced other authors, including Geoffrey Chaucer. Due to Chaucer's English translation, many mistakenly believed it to be his original work.
